With the topic of justification by either the church or by God such an issue in the time of the reformation it is not surprising that some writers still find issue with it today. This book outlines a puritan view that justification puts you in a state of righteousness before God and that only God can make this change in the life and continued life of the believer.
The Doctrine of Justification Arthur W Pink Anthony Uyl Books
A.W.Pink gives an historical observation that highlights the importance of this Biblical doctrine:p.10 "under God,the preaching of this grand truth brought about the greatest revival which the cause of Christ has enjoyed since the days of the apostles".In chapter seven the author refutes an error that has been taught by some:that being that the elect have been eternally justified by God.In the mind of God this is true-for once God has purposed to do something,it is certain that it will come to pass(for none can stay His hand). However until someone actually believes, what state are they in? According to John3:18 'He that believeth not is condemned';while any are in a state of unbelief they are under condemnation. In addition to that we all enter this world in the same condition(as fallen sons of Adam)and are 'by nature children of wrath' Ephesians 2:3b.
In the chapter 'Its Evidence' Pink distinguishes between what the Apostle Paul was treating concerning the doctrine of justification(that no sinner can be reconciled to God,have their sins forgiven, have a righteousness credited to them which God will accept and be restored to fellowship with Almighty God except through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ),Whereas the Apostle James is looking at the evidence in the life of one who says that they are trusting in the Lord Jesus.James is seeking to expose a false or empty profession of faith.Mr.Pink goes on to point out, later in this chapter, that all empty professors of faith are not aware of their hypocrisy(they may be self deceived).Though there are many who are content with an intellectual assent to the truth of the Gospel but their hearts are not wholly submitted to the God of the Word: p.67" there is no real subjection to God,no holiness of walk,no fruit to Christ's glory." This is the faith of the demons that James alludes to in his epistle.
At times Pink packs as much theological truth in two or three sentences as any writer that I've read. Here is an example of that in this summary statement on Justification(looking at the doctrine from different angles):"Christians were decretively justified from all eternity, efficaciously so when Christ rose from the dead;actually so when they believed; sensibly so when the Spirit bestows joyous assurance;manifestly so when they tread the path of obedience...".
In 'The Doctrine Of Justification' A.W.Pink gives ,what any familiar with his writings comes to expect,a Biblically accurate, illuminating, concise and insightful rendering of one off the major teachings of the Christian Faith.

The Doctrine of Justification Arthur W Pink Anthony Uyl Books Reviews
Excellent!!
Wonderful doctrine a must read every Christian
It is far from being a "brisk" read due to the language. But in the face of my previous presumption to have "mastered" the concept of justification, Pink draws observations and insight that are breathtaking. Rediscover justification again for the first time.
all the works from A W Pink are very well put and explained. He put complex doctrines and makes them easy to understand. This book is well recomended not just fornthe ones who struggle with this doctrine but also as a review for others.
I really enjoyed this book. Pink has a way of laying out the foundation for justification in a way to bring understanding and help get a Biblical perspective of what was accomplished by Jesus. I made a lot of highlights and plan on reviewing regularly to remind myself of these truths. Highly recommend!
As with many of Pink's works, this book does not attempt to be an exhaustive treatment of the topic at hand. The goal of this book is to familiarize the reader with the Biblical concept of justification in a succinct way. It accomplishes just that.
Another great aspect of Pink's writing is the way he combines doctrine with devotion. The devotional element definitely comes through in this book.
This book is more than worth the price.
Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! A. W. Pink’s The Doctrine of Justification truly clears our vision to see, which is often clouded over with doubt, to the glorious inheritance we have in Christ through faith.
